Ane Carla Rovetta
Ane Carla Rovetta’s formal training was as a zoologist. Like the artisans of the European Renaissance, she is committed to the practice of art and science as kindred disciplines. Ane Carla as spent most of her adult life unifying the two in paintings, handmade art materials, and lively public performances across the United States.
As a storyteller, Ane Carla favorite technique is “theme telling” when all the legends tie into a central idea or concept. A fascination with the essence of things shines through everything she does. Whether drawing an animal protagonist after a story, or describing how she ground up soil to create the pastel she is using, Ane Carla’s unique delivery keeps her audience spellbound. An illustrator since 1978. Ane Carla has produced the artwork in five full books and countless scientific and educational periodicals. She has had one woman shows at numerous locations in the San Francisco Bay Area.
