Charmaine Krieger

Charmaine Krieger has been a fiber artist for more than 40 years. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from San Francisco State University, majoring in textile arts, with an interest in different cultural techniques and methods. Weaving and knitting lead Charmaine to spinning and natural dyeing.  She is inspired living in West Marin, with its wealth of natural plants for dyeing and farms with local sheep’s wool.

Charmaine is a founding member of two fiber stores in West Marin and now a member of Black Mountain Artisans in Point Reyes Station. Charmaine has a popular knitting class in Bolinas with Gina Alexander and also teaches weaving on table looms. She has been featured with other spinners at the Bolinas museum’s “Spinning Out of Control” exhibit. Her specialty has been knit patterned hats, with handspun, naturally dyed yarns.
