Getting to Commonweal Garden

From San Francisco

  • Cross the Golden Gate Bridge; go approximately 4.5 miles
  • Take the Stinson Beach/Highway 1 turnoff
  • Continue on for 12.5 miles to the stop sign in the town of Stinson Beach.
  • Go another 4.4 miles and take the first road to the LEFT just past the lagoon (no Bolinas sign!)
  • Stay LEFT at the end of the short connecting road
  • Go 1.3 miles along the west side of the lagoon and turn LEFT at the stop sign (Bolinas Nursery on the corner)
  • Go ½ mile and turn RIGHT at the next stop sign (Mesa Road)
  • After 2.3 miles you will pass radio towers and a “COMMONWEAL” sign. PASS THIS.
  • Go another ¼ mile to 480 Mesa Road on your right.

From the East Bay

  • Take the Richmond-San Rafael bridge
  • Just after the bridge, take the Sir Francis Drake Blvd. turn off.
  • Take Sir Francis Drake all the way to Olema where it meets Hwy1 (~20 min.)
  • Turn LEFT on Hwy 1 towards Stinson Beach.
  • After about 9 miles, turn RIGHT at the first right after Horseshoe Hill Road. (no Bolinas sign!)
  • Go 1.3 miles along the west side of the lagoon and turn LEFT at the stop sign (Bolinas Nursery on the corner)
  • Go ½ mile and turn RIGHT at the next stop sign (Mesa Road)

  • Go another ¼ mile to 480 Mesa Road on your right.

From Marin

Follow East Bay directions starting at Sir Francis Drake Blvd.

From Sonoma County

Take Hwy 1 south to Olema and follow East Bay directions from Olema or take Hwy 101 south to Sir Francis Drake and follow East Bay directions from Sir Francis Drake Blvd.
