Workshop overview
The Bioneers Conference is an inspiring annual gathering of leading edge thinkers and do-ers from around the world. Join the Regenerative Design Institute and Gaia University family for a powerful group attendance at the 2011 Bioneers Conference, complete with lectures, hands-on workshops, exhibits, multi-generational connections, Gaia University breakout conversations during the conference, sessions before and after the conference focused on your individual path, and more!
The Program
We will begin with an opening session on Thursday evening where we explore what is possible at the Bioneers Conference and how to make the most of our time there individually and as a group. The conference is Friday through Sunday and we will be gathering each day for lunch together. After lunch we will collaborate to co-host World Cafe conversations from 2-4pm all three days of the conference:
Partnering Across Generations: A Wiser Together Café
Join us in exciting World Cafe conversations about how we can collaborate to shape the future by synergizing the unique gifts of all generations. Let's create tomorrow, together!!
Co-Hosted by: Bioneers Youth Program, Gaia University, The World Café Community Foundation, the Nature Connection Mentoring Foundation, and the Regenerative Design Institute.
The Bioneers Conference officially ends at 6pm on Sunday and we will gather at that time for a closing circle until 7pm. Many of us will go out to dinner together to celebrate.
Fees
The content workshop fees may or may not be covered by your tution, depending on your program. It is a required and included Start of Year workshop for 2nd year BSc, Capstone Year BSc, 1st Year MSc IESD, and Capstone Year MSc IESD. It is not required or included for 1st Year BSc or 1st Year Open Topic, however you may pay for the program from your Learning Support Budget. Please inquire. We have taken every step possible to keep the costs low for this content workshop. The fees below include a theater ticket at the Bioneers Conference, and TH dinner:
- Camping: $115 - Camp at the Commonweal garden Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights and commute to/from the conference grounds. This option includes a dinner Thursday night, and breakfast each morning Fri-Sat-Sun-Mon.
- Non-camping: $15 - Choose other accommodations and travel to/from the conference, still joining us for all sessions before, during and after Bioneers. Includes dinner Thursday night.
Is it a required course?
Yes, this is required and paid part of your program for all of our programs except it is optional for 1st year BSc IESD and 1st year MSc Open Topic. 1st year BSc IESD and 1st year MSc Open Topic associates may use their Learning Support Budget to pay for this workshop.
Gaia University requires that you attend a content workshop each year of your program. 1st Year Bachelors are required to complete a Permaculture Design Certificate course or Ecovillage Design Education course within the first 6 months of their program year, or prior to enrollment. These courses count as the Content Workshop for our Year 1 BSc program. 2nd year BSc, Capsone year BSc, 1st year MSc IESD and Capstone year MSc IESD associates are required to have done one of these courses prior to enrollment, and are required to take a content workshop early in each of their program years. This content workshop at Bioneers is our recommended content workshop at Gaia RDI -- we could not think of a better workshop for eco-social world changers. This is truly a unique opportunity. You may also consult with your advisor about taking another course/workshop as your content workshop if you wish.
Arrival
Please arrive on Thursday, October 13, between 4-5pm for camp set-up and registration.
