Integral Awareness Training Series 2006-2007

Integral Awareness Training—Tracking, Bird Language & Nature Awareness

OFFERED: September 2006 – May 2007 (see schedule below)
LOCATION: Primarily North and South Bay locations
Instructors:
Jon Young and the Shikari Tracking Guild

Program:
Join Jon Young and the trackers from the Shikari Tracking Guild for a truly deep exploration of nature through the lenses of tracking, nature awareness and bird language. Participants will enjoy exploring many aspects of tracking’s powerful and rich traditions exploring native skills of awareness, wildlife science, ecology, inner awareness and cultural mentoring. All this will be related back to the ancient understanding of caring for the natural environment.

In this program, we will explore the world through tracks, trails and the “eyes” of many keystone species of animals, birds, reptile and amphibians. We will link this to the world of plants and soils, weather and water and much more. Human impacts will be reviewed as part of each day’s routine

This program will literally change how you see the world! Participants in this kind of training are always thrilled with the quality of awareness and depth of experience trainings with Jon Young and the Shikari Tracking Guild can bring. The student to teacher ratio will be exceptionally low AND there will be an incredible opportunity for fast-tracking individual learning goals.

The program will consist of an average of 2 Saturdays per month, exploring a variety of ecosystems and places where particular track, sign or bird language is best encountered. Two areas of concentration will be Point Reyes National Seashore and the Santa Cruz Mountains / Coastal Terrace Prairie and sea shore environments.

For those who are also interested in attending the December workshop through the Institute of Nature Awareness (IONA) led by Jon Young and the Shikari Tracking Guild instructors, there will a 20% discount for first year students who enroll in both, and apprentices can attend for free as helpers!  Mark your calendar for these dates starting this fall.  Enrollment is limited.

COST: $1,320 for 12 classes pre-paid by September 9.  Individual classes are $135 each.  See “Program Options & Discount Packages” for more details on additional discount options.
