Tom Ward

Tom Ward is an ethno-botanist, eco-forester, and permaculture designer.

He has extensive multi-cultural experience in the United States and overseas. He is the author of Greenward Ho! Herbal Home Remedies: An Ecological Approach to Sustainable Health. Tom has developed curricula for permaculture at Laney College and D-Q University in California. He has taught Permaculture Design courses for twenty-five years.

Tom grew up wildcrafting, botanizing, and gardening in the upper Hudson River Valley. After earning degrees in Forestry and Botany at Syracuse University, he moved to northern California/southern Oregon where he has designed farms, worked in the natural foods industry, led numerous plant walks, and explored vanishing wilderness.

Tom is a member of the South Mountain Friends Meeting, and is based in Ashland, Oregon where he has worked building ecotopian culture for over thirty years.
