Wild Crafting Series: Acorn Harvest

Come learn the ancient practice of harvesting and processing acorns, the sacred food of the native peoples of California. Learn which oaks are best to gather acorns from, when to gather, and how to process acorns into food. We will be making acorn meal, energy bars, breads, and ash cakes.

 

Potluck lunch, bring knife and drinking water.

 

This wildcrafting series will be held the second Saturday of every month. Matt Berry, a Bay Area native, offers a unique approach to ecological education, blending his interests and expertise in field biology, primitive skills, and Permaculture. Matt has been practicing primitive living skills and nature awareness for 20 years, first inspired by Tom Brown, Jr. and the Tracker School.
